You know what really grinds my gears? This intelligent design crap. Okay people evolution is not perfect, but it's part of science and science is supposidly an open system (See tangent 1 below), so you can fix problems with the theory as they rise up. Just because the theory of evolution doesn't wrap everything up in a neat little bow doesn't mean it's wrong, it just means we have more to learn. Thats it! More to learn! Seriously if one little stupid sticking point that you can't prove very well becuase you don't have the evidence to back it up would totally invaladate the entire case... well then people you would all believe that OJ was totally innocent and got off because of the vast conspiracy against him... and Kobe... and Michael Jackson... etc. Or for that matter, how about this how come there are several religions in the world right now, if the Christian god is so vast, how come everybody hasn't realised how "right" Christianity is... or more specifically the Jews. Or why isn't god fair (tangent 2)? If Jesus really was the Jewish Messiah (Which in Jewish lore means something really different than what Christians credit Jesus being) why didn't ALL the Jews convert, because it should have been SOOOOO obvious he was the freaking king of gods Kingdom on Earth... wait a minute he was more like a poor sect leader wasn't he. Or why did god plant at least a little evidence that showed evolution happened (Intelligent Design people do say some evolution, like in Bacteria, happens). Or how come there are convientatly no more mircales by god anymore. Or how come the apocolypse which is supposedly "very near" hasn't happened in 2,000 some odd years. Or about a hundred more little stupid sticking points Christianity has. If little stupid things invaladate the whole, Christianity has a lot of holes to plug... just like evolution does. Here is the thing, science has facts, things you can prove. Now quite a bit is guess work is involved with the theories, but they are based on certain proveable facts. Faith cannot be proven (otherwise it would be fact not Faith), so faith has no place in school, because in public education you should learn facts, and information based on facts, not faith. Facts are cold, and logical... like Grissium on CSI. Faith is different, and when you start teaching one Faith over another... well then you almost have state religion, and then we wouldn't be any better than those limeys with their "Church of England." So please teach your children whatever you want, don't leave it up to my tax money and my public schools. Faith is personal and it should be taught by parents.

1) Do you know who else doesn't feel that science is open enough, those wacky people who believe in UFO's, Ghosts, the Loch Ness Monster, Cryptozoology, etc. They say that science is closed to the fact that a pleasaur can live in a small lake without anything remotely able to feed it for several hundred years without enough area for mating pairs, or something like that. It's amazing what people will blindly believe... like crop circles.

2) Why isn't God fair? Somebody told me once that the reason the apocolypse is near is because everybody on Earth has had a chance to become Christian, because the word of God has gotten everywhere. However that is untrue, because God isn't fair. If God wasn't fair he would have arranged it that we ALL grew up in a world completely devoid of religion, and we got to make the choice based off of a cold sell. People all over the world are brought up in their own religious beliefs which may be different than Christianity... such as all those Muslims, Hindi, Buddists, etc. Do all those people go to hell? They really never had a chance to choose Christianity, because they were raised with their core belief and wouldn't change it just as you likely wouldn't change to Buddhism after somebody explained it to you. People who were raised Christian probably will never change, same holds true for the other religions people. So then, why is God unfair? WHy is he creating perfectly good souls (which from my understanding God claims to love), and then placing them in surroundings where they will NEVER EVER have a chance to choose the "correct" path, and thus damn them to hell based solely on a choice god made? That isn't fair at all. Or how about more fundimentally, God supposidly is a being that loves his creations, namely us, but creates an imperfect world where humanity can be lead astray and thus be seperated from him. First off if god is Omnipotent he couldn't create an imperfect world, because something that knows EVERYTHING is simply not capable of creating something imperfect as God would know exactly what would go wrong, and thus much like Batman, this whole Lucifer and creation of the abyss thing was actually his plan from the beginning. So God purposely puts a lot of people into situations where they have no choice but to reject him. You know what, going out of your way to harm people you "love" is not what I would call love in the slightest. There are other examples but it's 5am and I'm tired. Or to go back into my arguement, why would God create a universe that is only say 5 to 10 thousand years old, and plant all kinds of evidence that the universe is A) Much much older (You know speed of light, seperation of other galaxies and such. And B) Very very complicated (you know, making an entire universe, in which we reside in one galaxy out of billions, around one little star on the edge outta billions, on one perfect planet, in one random orbit, with one really strange moon that just happens to be the cause of our seasons, etc. Why would he create all this extra stuff to purposely throw us off if he was fair. If God was fair it would be really clear that Christianity was right, and that all this stuff above us isn't really much of anything (My theory the stars are all just the air holes in the vast bug jar of reality). God made the Earth and universe specifically to throw us off about how things "really" are, that's not fair... thats downright crewl... and don't get me started on all the suffering in the world that's not fair either... or AIDS... or the Tsunami... or whatever.... sigh... none of that is fair either. Infact if you look at the whole thing, on the whole the world seems pretty unfair and stacked against humanity. And to go back to the bug jar, in a certain way the whole world seems designed so God can use his omnipotent magnifiying glass to burn a lot of us up alive... and that doesn't sound fair at all to me.
