Okay two things on this go around...

My City of Heroes account expired, and I couldn't bring myself to resubscribe. My interest in CoH had been waining for quite sometime. My crime fighting partner Falcon Girl and I don't seem to make the time to play as much anymore. And RPing doesn't seem as interesting when you aren't playing out pseudo-batman plots with others. Talking just isn't as interesting when there isn't a story going on. Plus I lost the fight to make Sally a NPC or a different type of mission, they just made her evil for no reason which was kinda sucky. So it looks like I'm switching over to World of Warcraft. Now I must admit I didn't like the beta much... then again I was having horrid connection problems back then, and was in full CoH mode at the time. WoW wasn't in the stage yet where you could have really bad connection issues (I don't know it's status now), but CoH could usually deal with it. Which colored my view of the game, because getting disconnected every 20 seconds was a pain. So we will see how that goes, but I'm looking forward to it. A change at this stage of the game will be nice. I think I'm going to go monthly for my first month or two, just incase after a short amount of time I get the CoH craving again.

Okay so I have been reading the Star Trek Online site recently and they had this...

an style="font-weight:bold;">REALLY GROOVY GRAPHY THINGY!!!

Which showed the age demographics of who liked what series when and by how much. Nothing terribly unexpected but I found it interesting none the less. It looks like the prime age to love trek of all sorts is 35-44. Which makes since, it means that when they were kid geeks they watched ST TOS, they were in their late teens early 20's when TNG came out, and they went into the other series in order. I think the raitings showed that Enterprises audience was getting older and older. I don't think they were getting older, I just think Enterprise didn't get any new fans, but retained that core Trek loving prime. It also shows that the younger you are the less you are into Trek. And the younger you are the more you liked the later Trek shows. Which works cuz your first introduction to trek was probably when those shows were new. But yeah I just love stuff like this, data made into graphs. If you look at the designer blog entry where this graph comes from you see all sorts of fun things. Like the number of men and women who took the test. How many who took the survey played MMO's before, the reasons why people did and didn't play. That stat actually was interesting cuz the number one reason was "it's to expensive." Which was the reason I kept telling myself why I didn't play MMO's for years. I got talked into Horizons, but I fell in love with MMO's with City of Heroes. Anyhoo yeah it was very cool. What I really hope they do with ST the MMO is really do something different than the standard craft & grind MMO. I think it can be a quantum leap forward if you can rise through the ranks of Star Fleet and get your own ship. That would be really neat. I don't know what they are going to do. But of all the MMO's on the horizon, I'm keeping an eye on this one and fully expect to play it once it goes live.
